Hope, Healing, and Awareness
One morning, I received a box from an organization I had never heard of before; The Remy Run. Inside were many things, but for me, the devotional was exactly what I needed at that moment. And after reading the founder’s story, I knew immediately I wanted to do more, too. What Kayla Allhands, the founder of Remy Run, has created through something so heartbreaking, is so inspiring to me. Her selflessness, strength, and drive to help ease the pain of grieving mothers even if just by the tiniest bit, deserve to be recognized.
At the beginning of 2023, I really felt a push from God that He wanted me to use this awful thing that has happened to my husband and me, to bring awareness and healing to others. And by doing so, maybe bring them closer to God as He has used this season in my life to do so in me. So, that is how KM Design Co was born! But wait, it gets better! KM Design Co donates 15% of all proceeds to The Remy Run for as long as Kayla continues her mission.
Kayla Allhands started The Remy Run in 2017 following the loss of her daughter Remy at 32 weeks gestation. She had it on her heart to help other grieving mommas, so she hosted her first 5K to raise funds to create healing boxes, which she donated to local hospitals and mailed out by request. In 2021, she lost another child, a baby boy, at 34 weeks gestation. Her mission continues, which is to bring hope and healing to others while honoring her babies, and others. Donations can be directly made at any Old Missouri Bank - Remy Run Benefit Fund.
As you can see, just like Kayla Allhands, my mission is to also bring hope and healing to others. As well as awareness of this heartbreaking reality that so many women often face alone. Our story isn’t over. Honoring my babies and yours, I will continue to use my pain to glorify Him.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
